Tartan Day at Lily's Seafood

I have had "Tartan Day at Lily's" on my calendar for months - I was so looking forward to it! I'm not sure how I came across it but I saw that Lily's has an annual Scottish Tartan Day celebration so I was sure I wouldn't miss it. They also had a tradition Scottish menu and a Scottish band and bagpipers. Lily's was packed by 5:30pm, and we were lucky enough to get a table because it hadn't even occurred to me to make a reservation. Here's a great video John captured of the bagpipers:

We enjoyed some kind of traditional Scottish sauteed minced lamb and onion patty appetizer, fish and chips, and a delicious shortbread dessert with vanilla pudding and brandied raisins:

Tom and Caroline joined us just as we were finishing dessert for a few beers - another great night in Royal Oak!
