Week in Greenville

I got back from the bachelorette party on Sunday and was able to enjoy the rest of the week in Greenville with my mom, who's a teacher and since it was the week before school started she only had to go in for meetings and to set up her room. Such great memories - I miss her already but it was easier to leave knowing I'll be back soon for Kacie & Genevieve's weddings.

Charlie sitting in the Reedy River at Falls Park - mom and I took him for a walk downtown and he just laid right down in the river!!

On Tuesday I drove down to Atlanta to visit John while he was training - he had a lot of down time in the evenings so I got there around 5pm when his training was finishing for the day and we went out to dinner at a really great sushi place, then went to the pick up some dessert at the Cheesecake Factory and we brought it back to the room. We were also able to enjoy a private evening swim in the pool since no one else was apparently in the mood for a swim! It was a very nice visit with my hubby :)

Our delicious sushi!

Mom and I had such a great time meeting for lunches and then going to the pool in her neighborhood for an hour or so to just bob around in the warm water. We went to Olive Garden for lunch one day and it was absolutely incredible - I've been to Olive Garden a hundred times but for some reason we just had the best meal with sharing appetizers and dessert and coffee - yummm. Then we went to Stella's in Simpsonville for lunch another day and it was also amazing. I was able to grab lunch with Lindsey at Strossners one day which was also a lot of fun. We also had some great dinners - the first night I got into town we met at Blue Ridge Brewing Company downtown, then another night we went on a culinary "Tour de Greenville" at the Cazbah, High Cotton, and Sobys.

Lastly - we stopped for a "blow job" shot at Muraski - never thought I'd be doing that with my mom but she's really our best friend so it was the perfect end to the night :)

I drove home all day on Friday and am already looking forward to getting back down there in about 2 weeks for the weddings!!

Kacie's Bachelorette Party!!

Since my contract at Motor ended in the end of July, I had the opportunity to go to Kacie's bachelorette party, which I didn't think I'd be able to do! I was so glad I'd be able to see my friends and family! The other motivating factor was that John was going to Atlanta for a week of training with McKesson, so I would be home alone for a week and that just didn't sound like any fun. So I loaded my suitcase and Charlie in the car and drove the 11 and a half hour drive down to Greenville. I got there on Thursday night and then Erica came and picked me up on Friday afternoon and we drove down to Savannah.

On the drive down to Savannah, we HAD to stop at Rush's in Columbia for dinner!!

We unfortunately drove through the rain all night on the way to Savannah and were really delayed so by the time we got there they were all ready to get started with the lingerie shower :)

On Saturday we had some breakfast and then went to Folly Beach for the day - it was PERFECT weather! We laid out and had a great lunch - exactly what I hoped for!

We came home and showered and got ready, and then we had few drinks before heading downtown for dinner at Churchill's.

Lady and Sons - Paula Dean's Restaurant!

After dinner, we went to Wet Willies on River Street - good stuff :)

After Wet Willies we headed over to the dueling piano bar, which we ended up staying at for the rest of the night - SOO much fun!

I had the best time and am so grateful it worked out for me that I was able to go - everything happens for a reason :)

Trip to New Jersey

We're back from our trip to New Jersey and we loved spending time with dad and going out on the boat. We drove half way on a Thursday and spent the night in the middle of Pennsylvania before driving the last 4 hours or so to Mt. Laurel. The car ride was nice because we had our book on tape and it was a nice change of pace to have a third passenger with us :)

Day 2 in the car: are we there yet?

How he spent most of the drive - passed out in the backseat. Must be nice!

We arrived on Friday around 1pm and had lunch with Suz and got our luggage unpacked. Dad was luckily able to come home a bit early and so of course we drove over to ramp to put the jet ski in, which I drove (with my hubby on the back) over to meet dad and Suz at the boat. We spent the afternoon cruising around and then docked the boat over at a restaurant on the Delaware river for dinner. It was a lot of fun and I really wish I could do that more often!

John's first turn on the jet ski Friday afternoon

Look at my sexy husband!

Saturday we spent almost the whole day on the boat - John and I both got to play around on the jet ski and we docked in a little cove and my dad grilled lamb chops for lunch! Delish. We floated around on floats for awhile and enjoyed the beautiful weather before heading back.

End of the day - driving back to the harbor

I jumped on to enjoy our last tandem cruise for awhile

Closing up the boat on Saturday night

We drove home all day Sunday and were home with enough time for John to get prepared before his big first day or work on Monday. It was a wonderful way to enjoy our last free days together and I just wish we lived closer so we could see them both more often!
