John and I went to the St. Patrick's Day parade in Detroit on Saturday with some friends - it was sooo cold! We had heard it was going to rain so at least we didn't have to deal with that, but it was definitely frigid. We actually went over to my friend Amanda's (from the junior league) apartment before heading to Tom & Caroline's because she was having some other JL girls over and had made quiches, fruit, biscuits, and "sexy coffees" (alcoholic) with homemade whipped cream! Poor John was the only guy there but he held up just fine :) After hanging out with them for awhile we headed over to Tom & Caroline's and carpooled downtown. We went to the Gaelic League first (before the parade started) and listened to the live Irish music and had a beer and corned beef sandwich!

After hanging out at the Gaelic League we checked out the parade, which was great but not very high-energy because of the weather. I will always love St. Patrick's Day because of the bagpipers! :)

For actual St. Patrick's Day John and I went to the Royal Oak Brewery for a beer and were going to get a traditional Irish dinner but ended up meeting Tom & Caroline at Mr. B's for a green beer and a Reuben sandwich!
Cheers!
